Dallas Selling Visas to Foreign Investors

Afraid that your family will be gunned down or kidnapped by gangs brought to power by the American-led prohibition on drugs and have half a million dollars to invest? Then you are in luck.

For prospective residents who invest at least half a million dollars in Dallas, the City of Dallas Regional Center, in partnership with the federal government, will reward investor visas and green cards for dependents. In the past three months, approximately 100 lenders have expressed an interest in the program, with a goal of netting as many as 500 per year. Dozens have already signed up.

A Dallas council member, a promoter of the program said, “People are saying, ‘I’m tired of driving around in an armored car — it’s not the kind of life my family and I want to live.’ ” In the past five years, more than 30,000 people have been killed in gang violence in Mexico. Thousands of others have undergone extortion and kidnapping.

For the uninitiated, the predatory government north of the Rio Grande river actively deprives poor people south of the border of their economic livelihoods and closes access to alternative working conditions in the north, only to reward the politically connected in Mexico with an escape from the circumstances they engendered. Those brave enough to risk their freedom to make a better life for their family without the government’s permission are left to the vultures, be they from the desert or in the government.

No one should be the least bit surprised by this development. Government borders are created to prompt feelings of patriotism and hinder one criminal enterprise from replacing another. All people deserve to be free to associate voluntarily with whomever they choose, no matter which side of the line drawn on a map their mothers gave birth.
